A look at a contemporary murder investigation currently active in London.

On April 26th 2019 at 11:45pm the Metropolitan Police received a call to attend an address in East London. Arriving at the Canning Town flat the Officers made a grisly discovery.

Opening a small freezer chest the Officers discovered the partially decomposed remains of two clothed female bodies fused together, one on top of the other.

The two women have now been officially named as Mihrican Mustafa a 38 year old mother of three who had been reported missing almost a year ago, and 34 year old Hungarian national Henriett Szucs.

A 50 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and released under investigation and a 34 year old man who has been named as Zahid Younis who lived in the same Canning Town flat has been charged with two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Kingston Crown Court on 29th May.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding has been quoted as saying that the crime scene was “one of the most challenging and complex” he has dealt with in his career. He has also stated that the bodies did not have any obvious signs of trauma or injuries on them.

There have been some reports online that the Canning Town flat was frequented by a number of vulnerable transient persons including drug users and the homeless. When the news began to circulate that two bodies…
